What is Silver Generation Ambassador?
The Silver Generation Office (SGO) supports the ageing needs of our seniors through 3,000 volunteers who engage them at home and at community places. Through these engagements, our volunteers encourage seniors to stay active, healthy and connect them to government schemes that they can benefit from.
Are you passionate and committed? Are you a good listener? Are you a good communicator? Come join us as our Silver Generation Ambassador (SGA) to make a difference in seniors’ lives.

Buddy up with a fellow SGA
Afraid of meeting new people alone? No worries, all visits are done together with a fellow SGA.
Together with your partner, you head to seniors’ homes to speak to them face-to-face. You may also be asked to speak to seniors through telephone calls.
Training, including practice through role play, is provided beforehand so that you can be comfortable and confident when talking to the seniors.
When you meet seniors, you:
- Seek to understand their needs through your dialogue;
- Explain relevant government policies; and
- Connect them to active ageing programmes, befriending, and care and support services.
